Fiona is a singer ,musician, composer and educator from Macroom in Co Cork.
She has extensive experience as a performer, collaborator and educator.
Her debut album My Love Lies was released to critical acclaim in 2009.
As well as a busy and varied performing schedule she has been involved in a diverse range of projects of a collaborative nature. In 2010 and 2011 she worked as one of a team of artists on an Early Years Arts project called BEAG with Graffiti Theatre Company, Cork.She is composer and collaborator on a new project entitled Lullaby with Mary Nunan (choreographer) and Margaret O’Sullivan(creative producer) which saw it’s first showing of work in progress in Dance House in Dublin in May 2011. This project is a highly collaborative performance piece inspired by new music from Fiona,poetry from the Muscrai Gaeltacht and direction by Mary Nunan. With support from the Arts Council Fiona joined forces with Caoimhin Vallely(piano) and Eleanor Healy (Double Bass) and Caoimhin O Raghaillaigh for a nationwide tour –A Game Of Two Halves- during 2010 and 2011.PLAY, a festival of music for children took place in The Ark Cultural Centre for Children during July and August of 2011. Fiona performed a series of specially composed new pieces for early years as part of this programme. She also led workshops based on vocal improvisation.Upcoming work includes recording, composing music for new theatre for young audiences and performances with a variety of musicians. Fiona continues to work in early years practice, composing and performing as well as other collaborative projects.
